Our apartments are right on Piazza San Giacomo, the lively heart of one of Trieste's most authentic neighbourhoods. You'll find cafés, pastry shops, restaurants and shops just outside the door.

By train
Get off at Trieste Centrale, the city's main station. From there:
- Bus (recommended): walk to the stop at Largo Città di Santos, right next to the station, and take bus line 1 to Piazza San Giacomo. The ride takes about 5–10 minutes. It's the easiest option with luggage because the last part of the way is uphill. You can buy tickets at newsstands and tobacconists ("Tabacchi"), or with the Trieste Trasporti app. Remember to validate your ticket when you get on.
- On foot: about 30 minutes, with an uphill stretch at the end. It's not ideal with heavy luggage.
- Taxi: the taxi rank is just outside the station at Viale Miramare 2.
By plane
- Trieste Airport (TRS): the airport has its own train station, linked to the terminal by a walkway. Regional trains run to Trieste Centrale in about 30–40 minutes. Then follow the "By train" directions above.
- Venice airports (Marco Polo / Treviso): take a bus or train to Venezia Mestre, then a direct regional or high-speed train to Trieste Centrale (about 2 hours).
- Ljubljana Airport (LJU): shuttle and bus services run to Trieste.
By car
Follow the signs for Trieste and then "Centro". From the motorway, the city's main access road (the "Grande Viabilità Triestina") takes you close to the San Giacomo area.
- Parcheggio Saba San Giacomo: a covered car park with video surveillance, right beneath the square. The entrance is across from the building. It costs €2/hour or €17/day.
- Street parking: available in the surrounding streets, but often hard to find in the evening.
